Day 25: Seek The Kingdom

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”

Matt 6:33

This verse sits in a section of the Bible that tells us not to worry about what we are to eat or drink or wear. If our God can feed the birds and clothe the lilies, if He can provide for them, He can provide for us who worth so much more to Him. Our heavenly Father knows our needs and asks us to look to him in all things. So as Easter draws near, let us lift our gaze to Him who provides for us; not just materially but spiritually, for He has provided us a way out of sin and death through His Son Jesus Christ.  Regardless of whether we are having a great time or a challenging time, we are to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.  All other things flow from this. To seek something is to look for it, to desire it, to work for it and that is what we are called to do. To seek God in all things and all times. To desire His presence, His will, and His kingdom. To work at this and not be passive in our faith.  And as we seek Him, we will always find Him because He is never far from us.
