Day 3: Wait
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14
Waiting is a verb, an action, though often times it feels as if one is doing nothing at all while waiting. The verse suggests three ways to wait well, while waiting for the Lord. Firstly, we need to wait patiently. Waiting patiently involves being calm, being at peace and enduring as the duration of waiting is not often clear. Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, we can pray for the Holy Spirit to help us wait patiently. Secondly it takes bravery to wait well. This means being fearless, valiant, undaunted and unflinching. Be encouraged to wait bravely because victory in Christ is certain. He has already conquered the grave. Lastly, waiting requires courage. Being courageous means not being deterred by danger or pain. Indeed, waiting can be painful, but let not the pain deter you from the sure promises of the word of God. After Jesus was buried, there was a long wait of three days that needed patience, bravery and courage, but the Lord came through then and he will come through for you now.
