Day 6: A Feeling Of Trust

“Let all I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him”

Psalm 62:5

How often do we worry about things in our lives? Scripture tells us to share our needs with God and to talk to him about the things that can cause us to worry or to be anxious. ‘Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything.’ Philippians 4:6. It can often be hard to be patient and wait quietly before God. Reflecting on my life, God's timing has always been perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Hope keeps us moving forward and striving for something meaningful and significant in our lives. One definition of hope is ‘a feeling of trust’. Hope should not come from our own abilities to handle everything perfectly ourselves, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight’ Proverbs 3 v 5-6. Instead, we should put our hope and trust in the Lord who is steadfast, faithful and abounding in grace. The closer our relationship with Jesus, the easier it is to fully rely on and trust in Him. Therefore, investing time in prayer and reading the Bible is of utmost importance.
