To a virgin named Mary

“In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David.” Luke 1:26-27

When I reflect on this passage, I am reminded of humility - that God sent a miraculous Angel to speak to a virgin named Mary. He didn't choose to bless someone of high importance or influential in society, but he chose to speak to Mary, an unmarried, teenage girl.

In the same way, when Jesus was born into this world, he chose to serve, not to be served, and associated himself with those who were considered 'outcasts' in society. How amazing that to this day, God continues to speak to us all, no matter what our current circumstances are. What is God saying to you today?
