Day 27: Beware The Thief!

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

Do you know that there is a competition as to who will be the leader of your life?

Jesus calls you and claims you as His own. He reminds you that He designed you, and that every breath is His gift. His love for you took Him to the cross. Only by putting your life in His hands will you truly have life to the full.

But there is another voice that whispers in your ear. The thief is also very passionate about you and your future! He reminds you his is the way of the sophisticated and independent. ‘Serve me, and I will give you the life you have always wanted!’

Of course, Jesus unveils the thief’s real purpose for us; and the life of Jesus is the one we would all choose. But the challenge is that experiencing Jesus’ full life requires us to take up our cross daily and to follow Him. It requires us to learn obedience, to sacrifice and even to endure pain and suffering.

In life’s difficult moments, don’t begin to doubt Jesus’ promise of a full life. Don’t begin to choose the thief’s voice over Jesus’! Choose to trust Jesus for your life!
