I stand in the presence of God
“Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.” Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.”” Luke 1:18-20
When we stand in God’s presence, he reveals himself to us, and we catch a glimpse of who he is – his glory and power. Just like Zechariah, our minds are way too limited to grasp what God can do, what God is doing.
Someone said, as believers, we live below our potential if we only expect the logical from God. We must trust that he is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ever ask, think, or imagine.
What is God saying to you when you stand in His presence? Trust him, hold on to his word, and receive grace to believe what he says even when your natural mind cannot comprehend it. Our God is unlimited, bigger and more reliable than any earthly parent - what an assurance! Let’s be like little children who trust what their father tells them without trying to logically figure it out. As we celebrate the birth of King Jesus, may we be those who stay in his presence so he can reveal himself to us.
