“Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2:13-14

These verses paint the scene of Jesus’ birth, which marks the point in history that will change life for all people, and will give a chance to find salvation and return to the Lord.

To mark this birth and reflect the significance of the event, an angel appeared before them, with a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and declaring: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased”.

As never before – with what is happening in Ukraine, Russia, Palestine, Israel and indeed other places - these words for me resonate with profound meaning and offer a glimpse into the significance of Christ's arrival. The declaration of peace on earth reminds us that God desires harmony and reconciliation among His creation. Through Jesus, we can experience peace with God, peace within ourselves, and peace with others.
