Alpha Course
Over 2 million people in the UK and 10 million worldwide have attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. Alpha is open to anyone, and takes place in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day away.
What is the Alpha course?
The Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren't churchgoers. People attend for a variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. 'Alpha makes Christianity relevant to modern life.'
Whats involved?
The course is based around small groups of about 8 people and each evening begins with a hot meal - a chance to get to know others in the group. Each week there will be a talk looking at a different aspect of the Christian faith, followed by an open floor question and answer session leading into discussion in small groups. This is your chance to ask your questions and help each other to discover some answers. There is no question too simple or too challenging at the Alpha Course.
